Writer/ Reporter/ Photojournalist Want to hone your writing skills, use some of those creative skills that yearn to be set free, and, serve our Lord all at the same time? Our Savior's Way is looking for one or more people to provide written articles and/or pictures for OSWLC publications and our website. Some articles may be sent to media as press releases - you'll be famous (or anonymous, however you wish). Periodic - weekly or monthly
Balloon Person Young in age or young at heart. We're looking for someone to fill a couple helium balloons and tie them to our church sign on Waxpool Road on Saturday nights or Sunday morning to make our church/church entrance road more visible. We supply the balloons, helium, and ribbon. This is a great family project. Sat. nights or Sun. mornings
"Thank You for Visiting" Card Writers Our Pastors call and send out notes to all first time visitors. We would like to send out a second or maybe even a third "Thank you for visiting" note from a congregational member as additional follow-up to returning visitors. Looking for one or two people to do this as their contribution in reaching out to others. Weekly – can be shared between several individuals
Greeting Visitors at the Welcome Table People Multiple positions available for people to stand at the Welcome and Information Table after each service. As you identify them as first time visitors or they identify themselves, you will provide them with New Member Bags – if you are really friendly, you can even tell regular members to "Have a blessed week"! Rotational basis – once or twice per month as you can schedule. People are needed after each service.
Following-up with Visitors Person Like maps? Like pins? We need someone to keep track of where our visitors live so someone from the congregation who lives near by can visit them. This person would "map them" and call someone to make a visit. Weekly follow-up on an average of 2-3 first time visitors.
"Write" from the Heart People We need everyone who has ever witnessed their faith to someone uncommitted or un-churched to write this "Conversation of Grace" experience down for others (and your own) encouragement. One (or more) articles about a page long.
Partnership Person This is a great job for a person who likes to engage businesses and other organizations into partnerships with our church. A partnership is working together to let people know about Our Savior's Way. This can be something like advertising church events or establishing something like the Saturday Reading program at Starbucks. Ongoing as opportunities are sought out or presented.
